There are almost 40 years between these two photos. INGRID AUSTLID RISE made her first free sculpture of her mother in 1979; a summer they were dairymaids together at the mountain farm.
She loved doing sculptures, and some years later she was engaged as Mint engraver/designer at the Mint of Norway; she felt she had got the job of her life.
During these years she created more than 1000 medals.
Doing portraits is her favorite challenge, and she has made quite a lot; her portraits are still sculpted by hand. During the last years, for more simple designs, the models are created on computer.
